Don’t Let A Clog Get in the Way of Watching the Big Game
Even those who care very little for football know when Superbowl Sunday is. This is because Americans take football seriously; it’s a staple of our homeland. This weekend, millions of people will come together in camaraderie to watch the big game: the New England Patriots vs. the Atlanta Falcons. If you’re planning to watch the game with your friends and family, or even just the half-time show and commercials, make sure your home and its plumping system are prepped and ready to go for the overhaul! The last thing we want is for your plumbing to act up and you miss a game-changing play.
1. Watch What Goes Down the Disposal
Hallmark football game foods include wings with celery on the side. While we love hot wings, make sure you don’t put the bones or remnants down your disposal. Your disposal’s blade isn’t quite up for the task. Celery is a stringy vegetable, which can also harm your disposal. It’s best to throw both of these items in the trash instead.
If you’re planning to fry anything – onion rings, french fries, chicken, etc., don’t pour the grease down your drain. Instead, pour it into a sealed container and place it in the freezer. After it has frozen you can throw it out with the rest of the trash.
2. Adequately Prepare Your Bathroom for Guests
Make sure you have a garbage can in plain sight to prevent things that aren’t toilet paper from being flushed. For added precaution, you can even write a “Do Not Flush” list. After all, it never hurts to be safe. Include items such as facial tissues, hand and baby wipes, napkins and paper towels, feminine hygiene products, and diapers.
3. Switch to a 1-Ply Toilet Paper
Depending on how many guests you’re expecting at your party, you may want to consider switching to a 1-ply toilet paper. While it might not be as comfortable for your guests, it could avoid a plumbing disaster.
Regardless of whichever team you’re rooting for, we hope you have a fun-filled day watching the Super Bowl!
